Adrian Martinez on ‘Focus’ ‘Gotham’ Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Neil Patrick Harris

Actor Adrian Martinez stars alongside Will Smith  and Margot Robbie in the new film Focus and spoke with Dispatch Radio about the film, production and experience on set.

Focus is really about where you put the focus in your life,” he begins. “We all have to get up everyday and decide ‘Do I put the focus in my business or do I put the focus in my family?”

Adrian Martinez photoAdrian plays Farhad, who is close friends with Nicky Spurgeon (Smith), an extremely accomplished con man who takes an amateur con artist, Jess (Robbie), under his wing. Nicky and Jess become romantically involved, and with Nicky’s profession of being a liar and a cheater for a living, he realizes that deception and love are things that don’t go together. They split, only to see each other three years later… And things get messy.

Praises go out to Smith from Martinez, who shares all sorts of stories, including the personal side of Will Smith on set, noting how uplifting and energetic he was during production.

Farhad is comic relief, but Martinez says he was attracted to the strong personal characteristics of Farhad: “He’s completely faithful to the people in his life….and in my life, I’m the same way.”

Adrian went on to talk about his guest appearance on Gotham and other shows, before taking up his experience on some really funny commercials, including a new Heineken ad with Neil Patrick Harris.

Focus opens up in theaters on Feb. 27, 2015 and also stars Gerald McRaney, Rodrigo Santoro, BD Wong, Brennan Brown and Robert Taylor.
