James Earl talks ‘Ground Floor’ John C McGinley ‘Glee’ and Dwayne Johnson advice
Actor James Earl talked to The Global Dispatch about his role on Ground Floor before discussing some of his previous projects such as Glory Daze, Glee and working with Dwayne Johnson on Gridiron Gang.
“It’s kinda like the mix of those two worlds,” Earl begins as he describes the plot of the show about a high-end banker who begins dating a girl in the building maintenance department.
“The upstairs, the downstairs, the people with money, the people with money, the clash of those two world.”
Ground Floor airs on TBS, starring Skylar Astin, Briga Heelan, Rory Scovel, Alexis Knapp and Scrub‘s star John C McGinley.
James Earl details how his character Derrick and he are alike, chair racing and bond with fellow castmembers before discussing what it’s like to work with McGinley.
“He really encouraged us to bring the bar up, step the game up. He’s always professional in every aspect and that’s one thing I learned from him is just how to be prepared and professional,” he says as he then describes McGinley’s preparation at home.
Earl reflects on the fun days on Glory Daze, Glee and then working with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on Gridiron Gang, which was Earl’s first feature film. He says The Rock offered him a bit of advice he won’t forget.
“It’s something I’d always say to wrestlers, but it’s something I’ve learned in life: always know your role.”
