“We just had our 100th episode which means syndication and everybody’s real happy about it,” Gammon began.

The Middle centers on the Midwestern Heck family and John Gammon plays the “dim-whitted” friend of the son, Axl (Charlie McDermott) and ultimately dates Axl’s sister, Sue (played by Eden Sher.)

A flaming cow, fun hijinks and other plot points are discussed before Gammon addresses his famous ‘Magical Trash Can Kiss’ song.

“I came up with the melody,” John admits, crediting writer David Rosenthal with scribing the lyrics. “I went into the table read…I think the first time I saw it was the night before, so I just came up with the melody. (I) practiced it a whole bunch…”

John discussed several topics including his love of history and his fondness for The Simpsons.

The Middle airs Wednesday nights at 8pm on ABC
