Libertarian Lucas Overby talks race for Congress, the debt and Obamacare

EXCLUSIVE: Lucas Overby made some headlines in Florida as the Libertarian Party rallied behind the candidate to ensure his presence on the special election ballot after falling just short of the required signatures on the petition.

Lucas Overby portraitThe LP rallied to raise the funds needed to get Overby on the ballot and he spoke briefly to The Global Dispatch’s Brandon Jones about the campaign, getting on the ballot and some big issues headed into 2014.

“We glad the rollercoaster ended on this note,” Overby said as explained the whirlwind of campaigning and fundraising to get on this ballot.

Overby was already campaigning to challenge Bill Young, who passed away, so now a special election will be held in the Spring with the standard November election still looming for 2014.

Overby joins Democrat Alex Sink, the former gubernatorial candidate and a Republican yet to be determined.

Obamacare, the debt ceiling, government shutdown, short term and long terms goals were all topics of discussion, so listen to the full interview below.
